Dr. Morales’s educational path led him to excel in general surgery, having completed rigorous training that includes both national and international experience. His commitment to surgery began with his medical education at the Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas de la Habana, Cuba, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1985. He then furthered his skills with a General Surgery Residency at the Hospital General Docente “Dr. Carlos J. Finlay” in Habana, Cuba, from 1985 to 1990.

Following his initial residency, Dr. Morales gained significant surgical experience in Cuba before relocating to the United States, where he completed a second General Surgery Residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania, from 2003 to 2008. His dedication to the field of surgery also led him to serve as a Surgical Assistant at the Miami Heart Institute from 1994 to 2003, where he honed his skills in complex surgical procedures.

Throughout his career, Dr. Morales has held several key positions, including General Surgeon roles at Lamas Surgical Associates and Holy Cross Health. He currently practices at Morales Surgical Associates in Miami, where he continues to provide high-quality surgical care. His certifications from both the American Board of Surgery and the Cuban Board of General Surgery attest to his vast knowledge and capability in the field.

Dr. Morales is an esteemed member of various professional societies, including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Florida Medical Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. His commitment to surgical education is further demonstrated by his past academic appointments as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Penn State University and Florida International University, and as a teaching faculty member at the University of Miami Holy Cross Hospital.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Morales is fluent in Spanish and actively contributes to surgical education and research, having authored multiple publications and presented at numerous conferences.
